Frequently asked questions

Please reach us at Hello@thechildrensdietitian.com.au if you cannot find an answer to your question.

A session will include me asking information about your family & child's nutrition goals, growth measures (including weights and lengths), feeding history, skills, family preferences and based on all this information a nutrition care plan will developed in collaboration with you. I will also communicate with any other health professionals involved in your child's care if needed (with your consent).

The Children's Dietitian is a registered Medicare provider, if you have received a referral under a care plan from a GP, part of the fee (~$58.00) can be covered by medicare. If you are covered by a high level health fund, rebates may be available, please check with your health insurance provider.

The Children's Dietitian can provide nutrition services to NDIS participants who are plan or self managed. If a participant is managed by the NDIS, we can provide alternative dietetic referral pathways.

An Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD) is a title that is regulated by Dietitians Australia, Australia's governing board for dietitians. Dietitians have to of have graduated with an approved dietetics degree from an Australian university, meet continuing education requirements and adhere to the code of conduct. A Nutritionist is not a regulated profession/title and may have limited qualifications. I am registered as an APD.
